This is what the ConAgra grain elevator looked like yesterday. I had a ball sketching the complex shapes and those wild-hair-like rebar sticking out everywhere. I used my Hero pen, a Noodler's flex, and watercolor.
And this is what it looked like when I sketched it in March--it's been slow, but they've made progress!
I don't know why demolition is so fascinating to me, but it is...
Fascinating to see them side by side. Just a hint in the “before” drawing of what to come.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marcia. The bit that's left now would be just out of the frame on the right of the older sketch. From the SAME angle it was just a pile.
ReplyDeleteFascinating! Your beautiful execution of both just heightens the juxtaposition.
ReplyDeleteCool urban decay! I especially love the "before" sketch.
ReplyDeleteThanks, both of you. Vicky, that before was one of those sketches that just worked. They give us courage to keep trying!
