Hi all!
This time our KC area sketchers will meet at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the third Saturday of the month. That's the 19th!
We'll meet up at the main garage entrance, just inside the underground parking, and go from there.
Normally we meet at 12:30, but because the Rozelle Court restaurant closes early, let's try for noon so we can still eat together after some sketching.
I'll be heading for Quan Yin again--it's been too long since I've sketched there--but we can all spread out and go wherever we like, then try to meet up at 2:00 at Rozelle Court to eat and share our sketches.
Then if we want we can go back to sketching!
Hope to see you there...we may even have some sketchers from a bit of distance coming to join us, and welcome.
Best--
Kate

Traveling with Art Supplies
My necessities...believe it or not they just weigh in at a bit over 2 lbs... |
I always SEEM to carry more than I need when I travel, but the variety of mediums you see here sort of puts paid to that idea! You can see what I used and why I needed everything I packed here: http://artistsjournalworkshop.blogspot.com/2014/06/and-this-is-why-i-need-to-carry-more.html

Out the Gallery Door
I spent the day, last week Thursday, running the gallery where some of my work is displayed. It was a beautiful day, and warm, so I had the door open. Post lunch I hauled a chair to the middle of the gallery floor, sat down, and sketched the scene...the old drug store directly across from the gallery. The old pharmacy still has a real soda fountain where ice cream and malts can be had on on warm summer afternoon.

World Cup Fever...
This from Suhita Shirodkar, on our correspondents group! Give it a try, if you like, and share your sketches...
Hi Everyone,
Hi Everyone,
With the World Cup only a week away, there's World Cup Fever everywhere , not just in Brazil!
Let's tag all our related sketches, anywhere in the world with this hashtag:
#USkWorldCup
It would be interesting to view them all
together and see how sketchers in different parts of the globe capture
the fever. If you have a regional team of sketchers you are in contact
with put the word out to them too!
