So Much More Than Fly Over
On a recent road trip to Ohio I was reminded of when I first moved to the midwest over twenty-five years ago. I thought "the sky is so big and the trees are so small!" I still think that and I still think it's beautiful!

ReplyDeleteYour post is different and your sketch is very nice I like it.

The proportion of sky to land says it all--oh, that low horizon line speaks the Great Plains. Just lovely, Barbara.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, beautiful in its simplicity.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I've been trying to simplify my approach and let the paint do most of the work though I don' t think I will ever lose my love of line.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely terrific! I agree with you totally about the landscape. Many people tell me flat open country is boring. I think it is just the opposite and your sketch captures it beautifully. Very relaxing and refreshing!!
ReplyDeleteOmigosh, yes...I love the Flint Hills, too. This is just gorgeous country...
