2 Steeples for February Scavenger Hunt

2 Steeples in Winter

When the leaves are off the trees, looking north from my second floor bedroom window, I can see the steeples of St Patrick Catholic Church on the right and First United Methodist Church on the left. This is a Neocolor II water soluble wax pastel done at the end of January 2012.

Here's the same 2 steeples from a different angle and a different season in watercolor.

  1. Beautiful vibrant colors. The steeple scene looks life fall; lovely view from your window.

    1. The bottom one, 2 Steeples Autumn, was done on a glorious fall day when it was warm enough to draw outside on my portable stool. Now in the dregs of winter, I earn for such abandon. Thanks for commenting, Lois.

    1. They're a pair, for sure, Cathy. Thanks for starting the scavenger hunt theme that led me to posting them together

    2. It's really neat to see them together. And I'm enjoying the scavenger hunt myself--hoping we have time when we go to the city next time to sketch the gold dome on the big Catholic cathedral.

    1. Maybe I'll need to do Spring and Summer to complete the series. Thanks Barbara. It is great to have an opportunity to revisit past work.

    1. Thanks, Teri. Repeating a previously done subject has its rewards.
