Home from the West!

I always enjoy taking time to record whatever airports we pass through...this is LAX, on the first leg of the journey home.
We spent some quality time at Dana Point!

I sketched while J. arranged for his dad's mass...
...and as always, it's good to be HOME...

  1. Travels with Kate and Joseph--I always appreciate your captures--whether vignettes of the airport so expertly composed on the page or a oceanside glimpse of seabirds, rocks & water. All showing a life (your life) fully lived.

  3. Beautiful sketches Kate. I really like the toned paper...I'm going to have to give it a try.

  4. Great sketches. The middle one is my favorite - I love the flow of the water.

  5. Airports are great practice. I have a few airport sketches on http://nuttdraws.blogspot.com/2013/01/travelling-in-fortt-worth-texas-people.html but they lack your editing and refinement. I have to agree with Barbara. The middle one reminds of the great japanese prints of water and rocks becuase of the mood and "just about right" amount of artistic moves and color.

  6. Thanks so much, all! You know, James, I think I was going for that Japanese feeling! I've got more sketches I haven't gotten up yet, still playing catchup after the trip.
