I sketched this on location while sitting in direct sun on a hot, humid day. I'm starting to realize how much Urban Sketching can be an endurance sport! I liked the angle from which I sketched this scene, but next time I'll scope out a shadier spot...!
Lovely, Steve! Is this trying out your new blue? And yes, it CAN be an Endurance sport, can't it? Well said!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate! Yes, using my new W&N Winsor Blue in the tree washes. Due to the hot weather, this painting was kind of a rush job, and the tree washes were laid in pretty quickly. I do love the bright spring greens I get with the Winsor Blue with cool and warm yellows!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying it! Gorgeous color.
ReplyDeleteGreat sketch Steve!
